Square Enix Files a Trademark for NieR in Japan

NieR Trademark

Square Enix filed a trademark for “NieR” in Japan. Could this mean a possible announcement in the NieR future?

Square Enix applied for the NieR trademark on November 29 but it has been made public today. Keep in mind that this doesn’t confirm a new announcement by any means.

Earlier this month we saw a NieR 10th anniversary website launch by Square Enix. While the website has yet to update with anything, it looks like something is cooking. Yoko Taro previously mentioned that he’d do a NieR remake, but he also basically said he’d do anything if they pay him.

NieR first released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April 2010.
