Bandai Namco uploaded a brand-new trailer revealing details for Super Robot Wars 30, including its release date. The game will release in Japan and Asia on October 28, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. The publisher also outlined the title’s various physical and digital editions.
Bandai Namco is promoting the latest entry in the mecha tactical RPG series as the “most intellectual property licenses used in a role-playing videogame series.” In addition to staples like Gundam and Code Geass, fans will be able to play as all new faces in Super Robot Wars 30. The trailer revealed new additions from the IPs Knight’s & Magic [sic], Mazinkaiser Infinitism, Brave Police J-Decker, Gridman, and The King of Braves GaoGaiGar. The title will also have new and original characters Edge and Az along with their mechs. Additionally, each of the protagonists will have their own theme song.
Outside of the release date, the other big news includes the various editions of Super Robot Wars 30. On Switch and PS4, buyers get to choose between a regular physical edition at 8,600 yen or a super limited physical edition at 28,600 yen. Both prices do not include tax. The super limited version comes with a replica figure of Metal Robot Damashii (Ka signature) Side OG Huckebein 30. Additionally, it will include a digital soundtrack of 135 songs from Super Robot Wars’ history.
As for digital, fans will get to choose between three options: a regular, deluxe, or ultimate edition. Not including tax, each version will cost 8,600 yen, 13,500 yen, and 16,500 yen, respectively. Both the deluxe and ultimate options come with the season pass (valued at 4,000 yen) and the bonus mission pack (valued at 1,500 yen). However, only the digital ultimate edition comes with a premium sound and data pack (valued at 4,000 yen). This pack contains 31 anime songs, 15 tracks of background music, and a 51-page digital artbook with additional game details.
The release date for Super Robot Wars 30 is October 28, 2021. The game will launch in Japan and Asia for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. For fans outside of these territories considering importing, the developers have also confirmed English-language support.
