Pokemon the Movie: Coco Delayed Due to COVID-19

Theatrical screenings of Pokemon the Movie: Coco have been delayed in Japan due to COVID-19. Due to the situation surrounding the pandemic, the release of the movie has been postponed. The film was slated to release on July 10, 2020 and the rescheduling of the premiere will be announced at a later date. Those who bought tickets to the film will receive updates on future screenings via SMS or through the official website.

Pokemon the Movie: Coco was set to star the new Mythical Pokemon, Zarude. This new Mythical is a dark and grass type, and it will come with a special signature move. By pre-ordering tickets to the screening of the latest Pokemon movie, fans would receive a code that would allow them to receive Zarude and a special Shiny Celebi in Pokemon Sword and Shield. No new information has been disclosed regarding international distribution of these special Pokémon.

Pokemon the Movie: Coco isn’t the only theatrical release to have been delayed due to COVID-19. The release of Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, the fourth Rebuild of Evangelion movie also known as Shin Evangelion, was postponed due to the on-going pandemic.
