This Week In Imports: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Looks to the Future

The time has come. Xenoblade Chronicles returns this week with a complete remake in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, which updates the graphics, remasters the soundtrack, and alleviates UI problems of the original. The game will allow a new group of players to discover Shulk’s origins and catch a glimpse into the future with the new Future Connected epilogue. For those dying to jump into the new content, it has been confirmed that you can go right into the 10-12 hour epilogue from the title screen.

The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki also gets a remaster on PlayStation 4, which adds full voice-acting to all the main story cutscenes. The second game of the Crossbell duology leads right into the events depicted in the Trails of Cold Steel series, so it’s a great way to acquaint yourself with the ongoing story.

Finally, there are some smaller game releases with Synaptic Drive, a brand-new arena action shooter by the creator of Custom Robo, taking place inside an online game set in a sci-fi world. There are over 100 guns to choose from, and each arena will require you to utilize different tactics. There’s also Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!!, a multiplayer versus game featuring various characters using the series’ traditional wire action gameplay in order to scale platforms and to reel in enemies.
