Tsuchigumo and Mokoi Highlighted in Newest SMT V Trailers

SMT V Mokoi

Two more Shin Megami Tensei V demon trailers have been released, bringing the total so far to 167. Atlus has announced that they will release a video for each of the 214 demons coming to SMT V. Each shows the creature being summoned, how they appear in battle, and occasionally how they interact with the game world. The two demons making their debut in the October 21, 2021 SMT V trailers are Tsuchigumo and Mokoi, both featuring prominently in the popular Atlus series.

Tsuchigumo made its first appearance in Megami Tensei 2, released in 1990 for the Famicom. Inspired by Japanese mythology, it is said to be an Earth spirit from ancient times.

Mokoi will be familiar to both SMT and Persona fans, making his first appearance in 1997’s Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers and most recently in Persona 5. The creature was inspired by evil spirits in Australian Aboriginal folklore.
