The Kuro no Kiseki II demo versions both went live on the Japanese PSN store on November 15, 2022. One demo is called the Battle Trial, and the other is the Story Trial. Each demo separates the different playable aspects of the game. The Battle Trial showcases Crimson Sin‘s combat system, furnishing players with two playable parties and letting them explore and battle freely. The demo is set inside the Marchengarten, Kuro no Kiseki II‘s in-game virtual world construct. The Battle Trial replicates the timed demo available on the show floor at the 2022 Tokyo Game Show, but without a time limit.

Meanwhile, the second Kuro no Kiseki II Crimson Sin demo is the Story Trial. The Story Trial is essentially the beginning of the game, allowing players to experience a substantial part of the early game. Interested players can play through the Story Trial normally, seeing what else the Legend of Heroesnew Calvard arc has in store. They’ll be able to control Van Arkride and his companions as they investigate a deadly massacre in Calvard’s capital of Edith. Players will be able to take their save data from the Story Trial and bring it over to the full game, should they decide to purchase it.

The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -Crimson Sin- is available on PS4 and PS5 in Japan. The playable demos can be downloaded from the Japanese PSN store. Click this link for the Battle Trial, and this link for the Story Trial.
