Trails of cold steel IV upcoming RPGs for 2020

2020 is going to be the end of a major JRPG saga. See, one of the upcoming RPGs for 2020 is the fourth and final The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel entry. We’ve seen war building. We’ve watch both Class VIIs preparing for this moment. We’ve seen characters like Rean and Juna go through so much. Now everything is finally coming together. It will be over, and I can’t wait to see it happen in Fall 2020.

And okay, maybe I want more Vantage Masters too. – Jenni

Cyberpunk 2077

Perhaps it’s a bit off-brand for a site that typically focuses on “unseen” games for me to be excited about one of the most heavily promoted titles of the last few years, but Cyberpunk 2077 looks set to scratch a particular kind of itch for me that  hasn’t been catered to by a really big-budget game in a long time. The neon street-samurai saga of “V,” complete with a Keanu Reeves-voiced side character and plenty of classic ’80s aesthetic flair is right up my alley. – Josh

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition Upcoming RPGs for 2020

While it isn’t an entirely new game, I’m personally very excited for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition. I honestly can’t wait to show my friends one of my favorite Final Fantasy games ever–and be able to co-op with them without needing to be in the room (or use all of those pesky accessories!). I can’t wait to re-visit this mostly overlooked Final Fantasy title. – Kazuma

Upcoming RPGs for 2020 Rune Factory 5

Another day, another opportunity to remind people that Rune Factory 5 is on its way. It’s currently unclear whether the game will end up releasing on time within 2020, but either way, I’m completely stoked for its release. Revisiting Rune Factory 4 last year reminded me of just why this series ended up becoming one of my favorites, and I can’t wait for the next game. -Alistair

So, I’m really into Mystery Dungeon games. And that includes games that aren’t Mystery Dungeon, but are derivative works that take Chunsoft’s old formula and do weird stuff with it. Therefore, I’m all about Nippon Ichi Software’s Void Terrarium. Its gloomy aesthetic seems to only be a filter over something more hopeful, which is a refreshing turn from the usual post-apocalyptic video game dreariness. I’m curious to see how well the usual, randomly-generated spelunking combines with a virtual pet-inspired affect. – Lucas

Paper Mario Origami King Switch

Paper Mario: The Origami King may not be the return to The Thousand Year Door we all want it to be, but I am still excited to see what sorts of shenanigans I can get up to in this newly folded world. There’s something about this flat hero that suckers me into playing every game (even that one where he was a third wheel to Mario & Luigi.) And I’d be lying if I didn’t admit this whole ring system doesn’t have me intrigued. Only two months to go! – Annette

Tales of Arise upcoming RPGs for 2020

Barring no delays, my pick is the latest entry in the Tales of series, Tales of Arise, is which currently scheduled for a release in 2020. I haven’t been a big fan of the series in a while, but there’s certainly been a Tales of-shaped hole in my heart that needs a filling. Considering that this is the longest we’ve gone without a new Mothership title (since Tales of Berseria in August 2016!) I’m really curious to see what Tales of Arise brings to the table. – Sato
