Wrestler Thea Trinidad Joins Street Fighter 6 Commentators

There’s plenty of crossover interest between the worlds of fighting games and professional wrestling, and Capcom just made that a little more official. Pro wrestler Thea Trinidad will appear in the game as one of Street Fighter 6‘s commentators. Her voice will be accessible as part of SF6‘s Real Time Commentary feature.

Capcom promoted the addition of Thea Trinidad to the commentary slate with a new trailer showing her adding a bit of play-by-play to Juri’s matches.

Thea Trinidad herself is a fan of Street Fighter and showed up at the WWE Royal Rumble on January 28, 2023 dressed in SF6 cosplay. YouTube user BigNastyKail collected some clips of her appearance at the event, where she emulated some of Juri’s moves during her performance.

Here are a few shots of her in her Juri costume.

Thea Trinidad performs on WWE Smackdown, using the ring name Zelina Vega. She won the WWE Queen’s Crown Tournament in 2021, and is a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. She also appeared on TNA Impact using the ring name Rosita.

As part of the Street Fighter 6 Real Time Commentary features, she’ll add commentary based on players’ moves and performance during a match. She’s classed as a “color commentator,” meaning she’s there more to inject some personality and excitement into the match than to serve as a learning aid. Other commentators appearing as part of the feature’s lineup include fighting game community commentators Tasty Steve and James Chen.

Street Fighter 6 will launch on June 2, 2023 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and PC. Check out a demo match between Blanka and new fighter JP.
