Your New Resident Evil Resistance Nemesis Can Summon Nemesis

The new Resident Evil Resistance Mastermind has arrived and, well, it’s suddenly a lot more clear why Capcom didn’t talk about his special abilities ahead of his debut. As pointed out via the PlayStation Blog, People can now use Nicholai Ginovaef in the multiplayer game. When they do, it will bring in a playable Resident Evil Resistance Nemesis.

Once someone acting as a Nicholai summons Nemesis in Resident Evil Resistance, it will become a playable character and can be used to assault the Survivors. The bioweapon is an Ultimate Skill, so it will take a bit to use. But, as a positive, using it to track and defeat Survivors can shorten his cooldown. This ties into Nicholai’s other special skills, which let him better track people even if they go behind walls. In the multiplayer game, Nemesis has close-range and ranged attack. It also retains its tentacles.

As for Nemesis itself, the addition of the Resident Evil Resistance Nemesis character led to insights about its development for Resident Evil 3 and the remake. For example, it only is able to utter, “S.T.A.R.S.,” because Capcom thought it would make it more scary if it didn’t speak. That message was left in. It was also noted that Nemesis’ new infectious parasite ability was “a means of differentiating Nemesis from Tyrant in Resident Evil 2.” The remake also attempted to make the additional form more dramatic.

Here’s a gallery looking at the playable Nemesis in action. You can also see Jill Valentine, who was previously added to the multiplayer game after launch, in some of the images facing off against it.

Resident Evil 3 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and comes with Resident Evil Resistance. People can immediately download an update that brings a playable Resident Evil Resistance Nemesis into the game, via Nicholai.
