Dragon Quest Swords cleaned up for the Wii

Gamevideos shot this video of Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors from the Nintendo world event. DQ Swords keeps the core gameplay as Kenshin Dragon Quest, a TV game where you use a plastic sword to slash slimes. It is an on rails sword slashing game where slimes and other monsters jump out to attack. You can use the Wii remote like a sword to attack and if you hold down a button the sword changes into a shield to block. In the TV game you also have a shield, but you block by holding up the sword. Spell casting has separate movements, instead of selecting spells from a menu in the TV game. Casting lighting has players wave the remote in the sky. Granted the game is still in development, but it looks pretty good and if it is just as fun to play as Kenshin Dragon Quest Square-Enix has another hit.
