Picross is just getting back to North America again and it’s charming more people on the DS than it did with Mario. Maybe Hudson’s take on it has a chance for success then? On October 25 they are going to release Illustlogic DS + Colorful Logic, which is essentially Picross with the addition of colored tiles. See the dolphin puzzle on the left? There are blue, gray, and black pieces with numbers on them. Similar to Picross you fill in the puzzle, but the colors add an extra layer of complexity. There are regular Picross puzzles in Illustlogic too like the Bomberman themed fire up puzzle.

I hope we see that over here. I’m loving Picross DS, but I was a little (tiny, tiny bit) disappointed there weren’t any color puzzles on it. Perhaps after this, someone will release a game with enormous color puzzles, too.

This looks like it would hurt my brain. Picross DS was fun and all, but I couldn’t handle any of the bigger puzzles because of the whole screen-limitation thing. I like to see my puzzles as a whole, not section by section.
