Master Chief in Mandarin

halo3a.jpgThaKingRocka wanted to warn (thanks!) all the eager importers hoping to save a buck by purchasing the Hong Kong Asian version of Halo 3 that the voice acting is only in Chinese. This is the version that Play-Asia is selling for $49.99 and you may want to avoid it if you want to hear Master Chief talk in a language you understand.

Interestingly, the rumor that I heard over this weekend about the US version of Halo 3 being region free appears to be true. You can import a US copy if you’re in Japan, Hong Kong or Korea if you want to hear Master Chief speak in English.

Mine is in spanish. I don’t mind that much because I’m from Mexico and it has a pretty good voice acting…

…But I rather the original lenguaje in any game. At least have the choice.

i actually went out and bought the US regular edition today and it works just fine on my japanese 360 system. hope this notice helped a few people avoid the impending return or exchange that i’m gonna have to work out with play-asia. let this be further proof that pre-orders are a bad idea.

Not a Halo fan here.. but Master Chief speaking Chinese, that sounds pretty cool :). I also do own a Jpn 360 and I always look at the region tags from Play-Asia to see which US game is region-free, I find that guide a good help.
