I’m for voices in Final Fantasy IV DS, but if you don’t like the way Cecil speaks you can turn off the chatter by picking an option in the configuration menu. Square-Enix also has a handy option to skip through events, just in case you died before a long sequence or you’re attempting a speed run. And for those gamers who like to relive cutscenes, players can watch events in a theater alongside the Final Fantasy IV cast. The last option interests me the most because I used to make multiple save files, some placed just before key events so I can watch them without replaying the game.
Lol, I do the same thing too Spence, have like 10 saves for Crisis Core as it sorely lacks that feature considering how many impressive FMV it has, thankfully I have a 4gb memory stick. I did the same thing w/ Jeanne d’Arc too before I realized there was a theater mode to access all the anime scenes. And to think that remakes are best suited to PSP, DS is not too shabby either if they put enough effort in it. Definitely getting this game as soon as I finish Lost Odyssey.
BTW, the voice acting is quite well done, I don’t think people would be put off by it.. except Palom and Parom sound much cuter than I imagined ![]()
I like the voice acting, but I have a feeling it’ll either be removed entirely or replaced with English voice-overs in the US version. Personally, I’m not a fan of English voice acting in my RPGs. Perhaps I should import this one.
I hope there’s some animation of Edge putting his arm around Rydia’s shoulders and then getting a popcorn tub in the face.

Good lord… a theater, config options, a math game… Square-Enix is throwing in everything AND the kitchen sink into this DS remake. Frikkin awesome!
Now, they need to announce a US release date! I hope both FF V and VI get this treatment on the DS Lite!
