Nippon Ichi opening a European subsidiary

By Spencer . April 18, 2008 . 1:09pm

Nippon Ichi opening a European subsidiaryEurope has been getting games from Nippon Ichi, mostly due to a strong relationship with Koei. They published the sudden influx of Gust RPGs, Grim Grimoire and soon Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. Unfortunately for the creators of Dynasty Warriors they’re going to lose a business opportunity. Nippon Ichi is opening NIS Europe.

NIS Europe will be responsible for publishing titles, probably games localized by NIS America. No specific games have been announced at this time, but Nippon Ichi has plenty of games in the pipeline like Disgaea DS. This news will probably affect North America too in the future. With another direct revenue stream it isn’t hard to imagine more localized games in the future.

Good for them, but don’t they still have to wait longer to include all the different languages?

They can use fans for it.
I bet plenty of fans would do it for free with a nice translation.

Nice. Hope NISE brings titles more quickly than KOEI.

KOEI is their distributer even in the U.S., so they will probably continue to have a relationship there.

@brandon – !! I thought Atlus was helping distribute their titles in the US. I guess this isn’t entirely surprising, but yeah Koei will play a role in distribution in Europe.
