Inazuma Eleven looks sharp in motion

By Spencer . May 14, 2008 . 1:33pm

Inazuma Eleven looks pretty awesome in this four minute montage of anime clips and supernatural soccer shots. One second you’re tapping on a teammate to pass the ball. The next three opponents connect dark purple energy to form a triangle and the death zone attack. Inazuma Eleven is certainly different and for me that’s a plus. Have a look.

Japan will see Inazuma Eleven in stores on August 22 and it’s not confirmed for North America at this time. I like to imagine someone will localize this since Level 5 is on good terms with Nintendo and Square Enix. However, soccer isn’t regarded as fondly in North America. One scenario could yield Nintendo of Europe snapping Inazuma Eleven up while Nintendo of America passes it similar to what happened with the Tingle RPG. That scenario really isn’t that bad since an English version will exist somewhere in the world.

Did Naruto just turn from Ninja dude to Football dude….wha!? There’s even Bunshin-Shots to boot!

I agree with your “only in Europe” prediction.

This game could become amazingly big in Europe ,middle east and south america as Captain Tsubasa nearly became part of their culture, it just needs marketing and it can do nintdogs level in Europe.

Dr. Slump Says:

Only in Europe? That doesn’t sound like a smart move. The English-speaking market in North America is much bigger, even if they aren’t as into soccer. Also, this game should appeal to the many Naruto fans in North America. Also, I want it!!!

Pedro Silva Says:

I hope it comes ASAP in Europe.

Aoshi00 Says:

Not sure about it looking like Captain Tsubasa (I used to get so pumped up as a kid hearing Tsubasa and Hyuuga shouting out Drive Shot and Tiger Shot), but this game looks very good. Have to say I’m not as interested in World Cup over the years though since people really don’t play soccer in the US. Been a while since we have a decent soccer anime too, the “Whistle!” anime was so god awful compared to the manga.

ShinRekka Says:

Never was interested in it until now after I finished watching the video. Games like these are the reason why the DS is becoming my fav. portable system ever. It’s like Shaolin Soccer in video game form lol…..it even has an Evil Team! I really do hope it comes over to the US though, it looks too awesome to miss out on. We already missed out on some other cool DS games these past years….

And lol, the main dude has Naruto’s voice. :)
