Nintendo Power tells no lies. Sonic and the Black Knight is in development for the Wii, scheduled to come out in spring 2009 in North America and Europe. Sonic Team is branching off from Sonic and the Secret Rings by throwing their most famous mascot in an Arthurian Legend. His goal is to become a knight. I’m guessing this is going to involve motion controlled sword fighting compatible with the Wii MotionPlus accessory.
Details are still scarce considering the game hasn’t even been announced in Japan. Actually, Japan seems to be the last place to get Sonic news. Sonic Unleashed finally got an official title in Japan, Sonic World Adventure, and they aren’t scheduled to get the PlayStation 2 port.
Sonic and the Black Knight doesn’t sound like the last Sonic mashup either. European Marketing Director, Gary Knight, referred to the Storybook series in the press release. What’s next? Sonic and the Jungle Book?

Well that is what Sonic Unleashed is all about. Yeah they added the were-hog for melee type levels, but there will be alot of speed and platforming involved in the main levels.
This new title is taking Sonic to new places, similar to the DS RPG. I think this is a good idea, but they get one chance with it. Sega screws it up then Sonic will surely die a terrible, terrible death.
Sonic will not die even if Sega release bad games for 10 year the character himself is alwayes the most famous character in the US whenever they make a study surpacing Mickey mouse Spiderman and Mario, l love medival fantasy RPG setting I cant wait to see pics.

sigh…. when will sonic team learn!? Sonic doesn’t need a sword or guns or any kinda gimmick, just give me some good challenging platforming with sonic running real fast and i’ll be perfectly satisfied.
