Starfish remixes a dungeon RPG for the Nintendo DS images

And the award for fastest PlayStation 2 to Nintendo DS port goes to… Elminage! In March the game was released as a PlayStation 2 dungeon RPG. This fall Elminage will be sold as a Nintendo DS dungeon RPG under the name Elminage DS Remix. The interface has changed to pull menus on the bottom screen, but it isn’t clear if Starfish is significantly “remixing” the core game. While this probably doesn’t mean much to Japan since they already have Elminage, news of a Nintendo DS port means it’s likely we will see this version of Elminage localized in English. UFO Interactive who typically localizes Starfish stuff is the primary candidate to take care of Elminage Remix. Atlus is second since they have experience with the genre.

  • In your opinion, do you think we're more likely to see the DS or PS2 version localized, or both?
  • jeffx
Yeah we have been pushing Atlus for the DS version. There's no reason to release the PS2 one anymore.
  • @Chris - DS version especially since Etrain Odyssey has been successful on the platform.

Maybe not Atlus since they have Etrain, they have a great relationship with Success which might lead to that other Dungeon game seeing a translation and now this one fits in their agenda.

Hopefully we do have Atlus pick them all up.
