D3 Publisher has plans for another Onechanbara game? images

The Onechanbara is one of D3’s biggest original properties in Japan. They even made a live action movie based on the video game series. Onechanbara and all of its campiness will make its debut on the Wii with Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers in early 2009, but D3 Publisher may have bigger plans for Aya. In addition to registering trademarks for Onechanbara and Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers, D3 Publisher owns the name Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad.

Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad may just be an alternate title for Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad, but D3 Publisher registered both names on the same day. It seems like a waste to register an alternate name after the game was on display at E3, but it’s a remote possibility. I like to think Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad is another game in the series though. Perhaps this is the US name for Onechanbara VorteX, which D3 had on display at a holiday event nearly two years ago. Oh and this isn’t for the movie either since Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad is only good for use with “electronic games”. Maybe Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad is a brand new game. Only D3 knows right now.

I remember hearing that Vortex was denied by Microsoft in the US already. Maybe D3 USA resubmitted though and got it through?

It seems like a waste to register an alternate name after the game was on display at E3, but itâ€™s a remote possibility. Its good to hear Vortex gettting denied by Microsoft. It should be resubmitted through.
