Mega Man 9′s fire dragon in motion

By Spencer . September 11, 2008 . 1:38pm

One of the earliest screenshots of Mega Man 9 had flying, mechanical dragon composed of angry looking flame sprites. The dragon’s home is, naturally, placed in Magma Man’s stage where it spits fire bombs for Mega Man to dodge. Very cool and it’s only going to be a few weeks until it comes out in Japan.

This is an opportune time to discuss the Mega Man 9 downloadable content rumor spreading on the internet. A rumor originating at Protodude’s Rockman Corner claims Capcom will release remixed music, bonus title screens, make Blues/Protoman playable, equip Mega Man with new shots for his Mega Buster like a homing shot, and if you get the Japanese version on WiiWare a Mega Man Star Force costume. While the rumor is of uncertain origin Protodude’s Rockman Corner posted a previous rumor list where they confirmed the retro style and how the game would hit all three current consoles before it was officially announced.

I’m going to get the Japanese WiiWare version just to be on the safe side. I don’t want to miss that 8-bit Mega Man Star Force costume!

Hope its a rumor. So far Capcom has been pretty good about not pulling that crap with their PS3/360 games.

Ditto, those things should better be “unlockables”.. plus an 8-bit game should not be worth more than 10 bucks.
