taikow If you didn’t have enough Wii accessories already Namco Bandai plans to bundle Taiko no Tatsujin Wii with a wireless taiko drum. The Wii designed taiko drum plugs into the Wii remote as an attachment. One wireless taiko controller comes with Taiko no Tatsujin Wii which retails for 7,980 yen ($75). Additional drums can be purchased for 3,990 yen ($38) when Taiko no Tatsujin Wii comes out in December 12 in Japan.

Namco Bandai has not released a song list, but it looks like the Super Mario Brothers theme which also appeared in the first DS Taiko game.

Nintendo should really make the DKJB reissue compatible with this.

  • Wow this is great news! I sure hope this tatacon is quieter than the PS2 game and have better hit detection, cause you have to hit the PS2 taiko controller PRETTY hard to get it to work. I’m excited and will import the game for sure!

Agreed. Same with the Donkey Konga games, if they┬┤re planning to re-release them as well.

That is a good point. The thing I don’t really understand though in regards to Jungle Beat and Donkey Konga is that the Wii has full access to all those ports. It isn’t like they couldn’t put it in as an option. Just let the Wii versions have an option to use the bongos. That Wii Donkey Kong Jet Race game or whatever it was called is a perfect example of why the feature needs to be in there. It was painfully obvious when playing it that something was missing using waggle controls. Though at that rate there is really no reason the games can’t allow regular Gamecube controllers as well.
