Finally, A Real Devil Survivor Trailer

By Spencer . December 19, 2008 . 1:35pm

The teaser video didn’t show much of Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor. This newly released promotion video shows a lot more of the game. The teens in Devil Survivor use DS-like devices known as COMPs to summon demons and protect Tokyo. Battles take place on a strategy RPG style grid, but when you’re in combat the view switches into regular RPG combat.

Just like in other Atlus games you can fuse demons. Devil Survivor takes this a step further by including the demonic version of eBay.

    I’m waiting, Atlus

  • Sora

does the battle look like a first person rpg if so i’ll pass, lately atlus have been coming out with a bunch of first person rpg, don’t know what they are thinking but first person rpgs are lame

  • RPGgirl

It’s amazing how times the word Akuma(demon)have been said in this trailer…

  • QBasic

@Sora: Dude…there’s absolutely no difference AT ALL if the view is first person or third person when it comes to turn based combat…

  • Mirko

In a game about summoning demons, fusing demons, befriending demons, fighting demons, controlling demons, it’s amazing that they also talk about demons? Right.

Did someone get what the “auction” shown in the trailer was about? Seems like there are some fresh ideas and concepts. Anyway, day -1.

I’m amazed you couldn’t tell from the entry and video, but this is a mix of strategy and first-person RPG as said and shown. Passing over a game because of a nitpick like that, well I say good riddance, Atlus doesn’t need your support.

Anywho, i’m intrigued by this auctioning system they’re implementing and I really like what I see so far. Nice that they’re bringing back the COMPs too. Count me in also for day one.
