How Many Private Actions Does Star Ocean: The Last Hope Have?

so4pa Over 100 and they will be easier to discover compared to past Star Ocean games. Private actions are unlocked by making Edge talk with party members on the Calnus, his ship, while everyone is doing their day to day tasks. Some of these scenes can only be found at night when the characters are rooming together.

As the captain of the Calnus you assign roommates by pairing crew members. Initially, you can only match characters of the same gender, but if your affinity levels are high enough Edge can bunk with Myuria and so forth. The affinity level statistic, which measures your relationships with the various characters, is hidden like other Star Ocean games. It grows by viewing private actions, rooming together, and more generally putting them in your party. Affinity levels also affect the game’s ending.

How many endings does Star Ocean: The Last Hope have? Square Enix won’t tell us the answer to that just yet.

  • It’s cool they’ll be a little easier to activate this time. I think I ran across maybe one or two during my play of Till The End of Time. Then again, I wasn’t really enjoying myself and looking everywhere, so that’s partially to blame.

    Private actions? A catgirl?

Wow now this is going to be a lot of fun, as if this game could be looking any better. I’m sure there will be quite a few endings like all of the Star Ocean games. I’m definately going to try to get them all.

Please PS3…Amazing RPG by Squenix and they do this to us? I thought I knew you better than that.

This seems like an interesting addition. I hope that this doesn’t mean they have done away with the traditional PA’s though. I liked wandering around towns in SO2 looking for them.

    • Don’t worry! Star Ocean 4 still has traditional PAs and triggered ones.

Thanks Spencer, that’s good to hear. I’m really looking forward to this game.

The only thing I haven’t heard much about is the item creation system. I know that Welch is present. While the SO3 system wasn’t that bad, it was almost impossible to get specific items without the use of a guide. The money required for it also limited experimentation, so change there is welcome.

I wonder if it will come in a special edition, or if there will be any pre-order bonuses. Personally I’m hoping for a steel book case.
