Take Another Look At Muramasa: The Demon Blade

By Spencer . March 31, 2009 . 2:39pm

Most trailers of Muramasa: The Demon Blade focused on action. This clip shows the characters you interact with and then action. In between scenes of Kisuke (blue warrior) and Momohime (princess in pink) cutting through demons there is a glimpse of the weapon building tree which has a total of 108 blades.

Another interesting tidbit about Muramasa: The Demon Blade is it has two modes. Musou mode includes RPG elements like character growth while Shura mode focuses on fighting. Sounds like Marvelous is trying to broaden the audience for Muramasa: The Demon Blade by making one game appeal to two crowds.

  • This game looks absolutely beautiful.

  • blazblue

yeah it sure does, most beautiful 2D game for now

  • Sorry if this was asked before, but they’re leaving the original Japanese VA in the US version, right?

    • Mr. Persona

      I sure hope so.

    • Good question. Xseed hasn’t said much about the US release, but they should be talking more about Muramasa after it comes out in Japan.

  • squall3031

This game looks goooooood! Gameplay looks like odin sphere. Too bad it’s on Wii and i dun have Wii ><..

    • Diru

Jeez, people are still saying this sort of thing? Go buy a Nintendo Wii console if you want to play the game! It’s worth it! This game is never going to get ported over to another console, so you better buy or borrow a Nintendo Wii console(Odin Sphere didn’t and Grim Grimoire didn’t either).

  • Vino (Tim N)

XSEED had better do when Atlus did, and release it with the original Japanese VAs D: I would die if they didn’t.
Onsen shot right at the end!

    • Volcynika

      Video games. Serious business!

  • Looks like a classic in the making.

  • Justin Bailey

    I want this so bad but I’m not buying another Wii. Fingers crossed for the inevitable PS2 port >_<;

    • Volcynika

Those fingers will be crossed for a looooooooooooooong time.

    • Diru

      Justin Bailey equals Metroid.

*sigh* Anywayz, that’s never going to happen. Odin Sphere is still exclusive to the Playstation 2 console after almost 2 years. It was never ported over to any other console, an I’m pretty that Muramasa: The Demon Blade will be the same. Just buy a Nintendo Wii console for this game, it’s going to be worth it! What’s the problem? You can’t afford it?

    • lostinblue

remember how PS2 lagged with Odin Sphere?

This game has even ritcher animation so… probably couldn’t handle it as is.

  • EvilAkito

Easily my most anticipated game at the moment. It’s cool that they let you choose between an RPG-oriented mode and an action-oriented mode. That will certainly increase the replay value.

  • GT-R

Was going to get it anyway, but the chick with the big boobs seals the deal for sure!

  • Volcynika

Really want this. And if XSEED can’t fit both tracks on there, I hope they’ll axe the JP one in favor of the English voice over.

    • Aoshi00

*drool at the graphics* The tofu and tempura shrimp remind me of the food stuff in Goemon.

A game as Jpn flavored as this, I hope they could even fit the optional Jpn text (like Sonic & the Secret Rings). W/ Kawasumi Ayako (Gwendolyn in Odin Sphere), Hayami Shou, & Minami Omi (the big boobed chick up there), I pray to the lord they would leave the Jpn track in.

  • Mazen

Its just got a great score at famitsu.
