White Knight Chronicles Ready For Explosive Action In North America

Sony is gearing up for a domestic release of White Knight Chronicles and sent out an English trailer. It’s amazing how shuffling clips and changing the background music gives the game a completely different feel in each region.

Back at Tokyo Game Show, Sony brought one final trailer before releasing White Knight Chronicles in Japan. The video with its soothing background music presents the characters and fantasy setting. After watching this movie I thought White Knight Chronicles looks like a relaxing world I want to explore.

The US trailer uses many of the same scenes, but presents them with a dramatic score which makes the game feel like a summer action movie. Seriously! The clip ends with an explosion behind the White Knight. White Knight Chronicles is relaxing in Japan and a non-stop thrill ride in North America.

Hahaha….right on the nose about the summer blockbuster comment.

I loved the trailer when I saw it the first time, then my excitement was gradually dampened by the across the board negative reviews from Jpn gamers, the title is in bargain bin too and most of the time there’s a valid reason for it..

Will the US version be improved upon? I’m worried this won’t have a fun single player campaign since I don’t play online.. and I don’t like the char design so much either.. Usually I like most Level 5 games.

Yeah, I don’t like the character design in this game either. I’ll hit up online, but we’ll see how it goes first. It probably won’t be a first week purchase for me.

    • It will be getting improvements like all of the patches currently released in Japan for the online mode. There are some single player tweaks, but it feels like if any further enhancements are going to be made they will be things like voice chat and more quests.

Eh, I actually prefer the Japanese trailer, but I’ve never been a fan of Hollywood-style trailers (overly dramatic announcer guy and booming soundtrack). I’m cautiously looking forward to this game. More RPGs on the PS3 are always welcome, although all the impressions I’ve seen on forums of the Japanese release were very mixed. Level 5 can be counted on to deliver a usually technically impressive game, but I never really liked the gameplay in their PS2 games. The online sounds interesting though.

I really want to see SCEA announce a NA release of Demon’s Souls.

  • The trailer is great and the musical scoring is fantastic! I love the action, adventure and it truly has an epic vibe. Do you know how much is it to play the game? I just hope that it’ll not disappoint me and will make me play for long hours just like when I grind warcraft gold on WoW.

  • Even with the negative scores from Famitsu (most reviewers’ complaints have been addressed in patches since then anyway), I will not be deterred from buying the heck out of this game. Being able to create, essentially, yourself to journey with the main characters and then go your own way in an online mode is awesome. Phantasy Star Universe never quite captured that feeling, so I’m really anxious to see if this game succeeds in that regard.

i’m going to give this game a try also. i hate reviews!!! level 5 will be getting my money.

  • Much like with Bionic Commando, I’m still not sold on this game, and will have to wait and see how the reviews are.
