Mega Man: Rush Marine Is An Underwater Shooter

Capcom has another retro Mega Man game in development, but Mega Man: Rush Marine is quite different from Mega Man 9. First of all, it’s a side-scrolling aquatic shooter. Second, it’s for mobile phones.

Mega Man: Rush Marine borrows assets from previous NES Mega Man games, most notably the Rush Marine sprite from Mega Man 3. The cell phone game has ten levels with robot masters each with their own unique weapon. See, Wily sent his minions underwater to dig for oil and the drilling is causing earthquake. Mega Man will fight them in three kinds of environments and face fourteen enemies like Hammer Joe and a giant turtle.

you had me at Mega Man.
you lost me at mobile phones.

    Mobile phones? Damn you Capcom!

There should be a high chance this would be ported to Wiiware and PSN/XBLA later right? Just like FF IV The After or the 3rd Birthday. I hate games on cellphones too, mine is just what it is, a phone, no fancy schmancy smart phone.

    Or DSiWare.

  • Scypher

This has a really terrible color palette. It looks like a My First GameMaker Project. :(

I felt the same way when I found out about this. I think it could be a cool DSiWare game or something though!

  • Lucky

A DSiWare port would be excellent. :)

I was wondering what the hell this was when I saw it on a press site. They didn't actually mention the platform for it, so I just assumed it would be an iPhone game. I guess I was right. :P

It does look a bit odd but I wouldn't blame it on the palette itself.

It's Mega Man alright, but the enemy sprites and of course the background leave much to be desired.

    DSiware? Yes please!

    iPhone? No thanks!

Don't you mean 'what backgrounds'? :)

Looks a bit crap. Inti should convert MM9 to DSiWare imo. And also do a 16bit style MMX9 for XBLA/PSN/WiiWare.

    Zing! :P

Awesome. I'm on this. Especially if it goes to DSiWare. Better yet, Virtual Console.
