Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled Finally Done, Shipping To Stores

Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled Finally Done, Shipping To Stores images Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled had a long journey. Studio Archcraft originally planned to release Project Exile as a GBA game. Publisher Graffiti Entertainment mailed the final product to retailers today. You should be able to see what three years of work and graphics reminiscent of Secret of Mana as early as tomorrow.

The game has seven endings to find, over a hundred skills, and eight characters that we know little about. The hero is a knight named Kairu and… well, I want to tell you more about him and his friends, but Graffiti Entertainment hasn’t said much about the story.

Congrats to Studio Archcraft for releasing a RPG tribute project and fulfilling a childhood dream.

I'm very excited on seeing the final result. I'm hoping it sells decently enough that the developer can continue making games and pay off that loan they recently took to pay their publisher.

I'm more concerned about the quality of their game (rather than its future sales), right now. Hope it turns out fine, but I guess I'll just have to rely on reviews...
  • Shuyin
Well, if you rely on reviews you probably won't play it.
    Nintendo Power gave it 5.0
  • Ereek
Play gave it a 9/10. It really comes down to who you trust more.
  • Shuyin
When it comes to who you trust more, there's only one source than can be objective relative to yourself: you :P

So try it and make your own opinion; of course when you can't play a demo, you'll have to rely on other ppl's opinions aka reviews :P
  • Hello Hello
I pre-ordered the game online. This is my most anticipated game, so I'm hoping Canada Post gets it to me in a timely manner.

I hope this sells fine, seems like good effort.

"You should be able to see what three years of work and graphics reminiscent of Secret of Mana as early as tomorrow."

Unfortunately, I do not expect the game to be anywhere near as amusing as this poor, confused sentence.
  • I get your point, but you sure as hell don't mince words. Unless you're a new Siliconera reader, this shouldn't surprise you so much. Actually I don't recall reading your comments until my Brandish PSP feature popped up.

I propose we refer to these as Spencer-isms. :)

On topic now, I can't wait to own this. Even if it turns out to be total crap, I'll proudly display it next to Chaos Wars and Ultimate Shooting Collection in my "can't believe they actually came out" section.

Do you post here as Trenchoat too?

About freakin' time! I've been browsing web pages for this game's release date hoping it's not pulled back again.
  • Color me excited. Whatever color you attribute to excited is up to you, but I prefer the brighter shades of life. As if that were any less vague.
  • I actually want to play this, and not just out of morbid curiosity. I hear it plays like Chrono Trigger.

I remember writing a news story on this way back when, like 3 years ago when it was announced they were moving it from GBA to the DS. Wow, can't believe it was that long ago.

This is one of those games I feel guilty about not buying right away. Seems like a great story (ts development), but I'm sure I'll never play it.
  • MadMirko
    That's no reason for not-buying. :/
  • JeremyR
Not having any (well, much) money is the actual reason. And with the price of gas going up and up and up again, don't have much breathing room, so to speak.
