Color Coded Slimes Seen In Dragon Quest Wars Screenshots

In just a few weeks Square Enix will release Dragon Quest Wars on DSiWare. Fire Emblem developers Intelligent Systems created Dragon Quest Wars as a simplified strategy RPG with colorful slimes.

When you enter a four on four battle enemy teams are color coded red, green, and yellow. The screenshots show a bunch of slimes, but not much monster variation. Where are the hulu dancers, robot hunters, and shield throwing Hippoblockomi?

I guess I can’t ask for too much since Dragon Quest Wars is a 500 DSiWare ($5) game. Perhaps, Square Enix could have saved money if they reused sprites from their Super Nintendo games instead of making 3D models. Classic sprites would have looked just as good, if not better.
