Demon’s Souls comes out in two flavors on October 6. Everyone that pre-orders the PS3 game gets an art book filled with concept sketches.

In addition to the standalone game Demon’s Souls will be released in a deluxe “stop importing it” edition, as it was called at Anime Expo. This comes with a 150+ page official strategy guide (only sold in the bundle) and a slipcase with the original box art.

Demon’s Souls will retail for $59.99. The stop importing edition is $10 more, priced at $69.99. Well be posting more news about Demon’s Souls soon so please look forward to it.

Just $10 difference? Fair deal. If I'm pre-ordering at EB Games would I have to specify I want the deluxe edition?
  • JackiJinx
I'm all in agreeance with this here person. Ten buck difference sounds worth it to me.
  • Sir Fratley
Yep i agree, ten bucks for the guide and the nice slipcover and the artbook sounds good to me, im going to pre order soon, im really waiting this game since the japanese release.
  • Yeah I think you would need to.
  • Tom
Sounds good to me, I just hope I like it. I am not big on Monster hunter on PSP but I don't know if its the controls i MH or just because I don't like that kind of game portable. Still I want to give it a shot and I am a sucker for an artbook, especially non Game Stop exclusive ones. They should call the store Stop Gaming, because they way they do everything and how I NEVER get my bonus items they make me want to stop playing.
  • Mazen
This game has nothing to do with Monster Hunter.

Congratulations to launch in the U.S.
Demon's Souls is the most exciting games in the past years.
    I MUST IMPORT TO JPN.
  • Rodger
    Best. Special. Edition. Name. Ever.

I so plan to pre-order the "Stop Importing It" edition.
  • Pichi
Love that Atlus humor. Seems like a good deal.
  • UFO
Kinda refreshing they don't try to pull any bull on you with the naming.
  • leafpanda
    Great name,Atlus
  • Still not interested in it, especially not for $10 extra. Played the game on my brother's PS3 and it was just okay.
  • Malek86
Strange, Atlus usually doesn't make you pay extra for the spoils.

But... too late. I already imported it.
  • Volcynika
Well, they kind are, kinda aren't. No matter what version you preorder, you get the artbook thing. The extra 10 bux is just to include the slipcover + strat guide.
  • Everyone gets the art book which is nice. The "stop importing it edition" is like a strategy guide bundle.
  • bonafide
It's not that bad, aren't strategy books usually more expensive? That being said, is the game worth it? I checked a few gameplay videos and I'm not impressed by what I've seen so far.
  • One of the best things about Demon's Souls is something you're going to love or hate. It's a tough game, but it's rewarding when you actually take down a boss. You know the feeling you get when you beat a robot master in Mega Man? It's kind of like that.
  • Ereek
It's amazing, though if Monster Hunter isn't your thing, you won't like it.
  • BlindsideDork
I HATED Monster Hunter (tried the demo of the newest) but I LOVE Demon's Souls.
  • ocha
Too late... kinda regreting it... :(
  • BlindsideDork
I have the import and most likely will be getting the Deluxe Edition for the Strat Guide but I must say this seems VERY lazy of Atlus. I am most disappointed.

They said new cover, that blue cover is the instruction manual of the import. The slip cover is the original cover of the game. Lame, very lame.
  • Why pay $10 more for a strategy guide when GameFAQs and YouTube exists for free?

And being the loyal Atlus fan I am, I already pre-ordered this the second I could on Amazon, which means I'd have to cancel that pre-order to get this new edition if I wanted to. Why didn't they wait till they announced both editions before offering pre-orders?
  • Bryan
I've imported it, as I only care about playing the actual game. Guides are a waste of space for me as I never use them. If I ever get stuck, I'll make a quick stop at GameFAQs for free. Artwork, cool and all, but still not a personal interest of mine. Wasted space in my bedroom.

However, great name for the game, I did get a chuckle out of it.
