Level 5 Passes Two Versions Of Inazuma Eleven 2 To Retailers

imageInazuma Eleven 2: The Threat of the Invaders is scheduled for release on October 1. Like fellow CoroCoro Comic series Mega Man Star Force, it’s being split into two games.

Inazuma Eleven 2: The Threat of the Invaders Blizzard and Inazuma Eleven 2: The Threat of the Invaders Fire will be sold for 4,990 yen ($55) a piece. Both games have the alien soccer team and space invaders storyline. The key difference is which team will be your rival. In Fire you face off against Prominence. Blizzard has Enzo’s squad battling Diamond Dust.

Level 5 plans to put over 1,500 (!!) characters to recruit in Inazuma Eleven 2. That number includes familiar faces from the anime series, but it isn’t clear how many of these characters will be exclusive to each game.

They also beefed up online play and added four player support. You can set up 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 1, and 4 vs. CPU matches over Nintendo Wi-Fi.

There hasn’t been any discussion about an international release for Inazuma Eleven so an international release for the sequel seems unlikely right now.

Hopefully, if the sequel does well in Japan, Level 5 will bring over the 1st one because I feel this is the only game that will get me back into playing my DS.

Level-5 have certainly been busy lately. Their people must be being overworked to death. ><

Level 5′s studio is mushrooming too. Their employees only have to work half to death now.

damn, 1,500 characters. I wonder if the stats/special abilities/character designs are diverse enough to make that many characters meaningful. Nevertheless, UK gamers need to campaign to their Atlus equivalent to get this series brought over.

did part 1 come to the US, if not y? seems like a pretty cool game

Level 5 doesn’t have a domestic branch so they would need a third party publisher to pick it up which hasn’t happened yet.

Add me to the list of people reeeeally hoping this series gets a visit from the Localization Fairy.

I still think the Inazuma Eleven games will get some kind of release. There might be a lot more to negotiate since it’s a mixed media property with a manga and anime series now.

    • GhaleonQ

Absolutely. It’s the best new property this generation, I think.

Bring us the first game already!

I know Americans aren’t that into soccer, but Brits sure are, so I would think an English-language release would be warranted. I sure would love to play it. I think the sports-RPG genre has a lot of potential.
