Ninety-Nine Nights II Has Online Co-Op

Ninety-Nine Nights was missing a key element that made the Dynasty Warriors games fun — co-op play. Feelplus addressed this while developing Ninety-Nine Nights II.

Well, sort of. Ninety-Nine Nights II has a co-op play, but only online co-op play. The game’s product page says “offline players: 1” and “online cooperative play”. It’s better than the alternative, nothing, but action games like Ninety-Nine Nights and Sengoku Basara are always more fun when playing with a friend that you can talk to… without a headset.

The product page also mentions an online ranking system, which hasn’t been detailed yet.

Oh. I dont have a 360 but having online co-op for Sengoku Basara for Wii would be cool

I must be in the minority here. I’ve always hated split-screen co-op. I always prefer my nice, large screen and talking with my friends on my headset to a bad split screen. These games don’t lend themselves to the same screen Co-op experience (a la Monster Madness or a “Beat-em-up”). Though, it is silly to not offer the option. The graphics overhaul must be huge on this one.

Dynasty Warriors? Fun? Right. The most repetitive, button-mashy series ever that could just be played by putting an electric toothbrush over the attack button and then move around. And why is Koei still making games off this franchise again?

Koei keeps making them cause people still buy them, and people still buy them because they are good, fun games. It’s as simple as that.
