Fist of the North Star Musou?

By Spencer . October 9, 2009 . 1:47pm

image Maybe, just maybe, Fist of the North Star Musou was the game Koei was teasing at Tokyo Game Show.

Koei put together a teaser site with a new and unannounced project with a lady leaping off a building a few weeks ago (thanks for the tip J. Cade!!). The title is believed to be related to Fist of the North Star.

Japanese blogs are buzzing about a more specific game, Fist of the North Star Musou.

Whatever it is, it’s a big deal since Koei and Nico Nico will hold a live broadcast of the press conference on October 14 when the project will be unveiled.

So it could be like Dynasty Warrior meets Kenshiro? I don’t really like that genre though. I would rather have a brawler a la God Hand.

      EXACTLY

If it’s less like Musou Warriors and more like Berserk: Millennium Falcon Hen Seima Senki No Shou on PS2 then it could be a great thing for the series.

Wow, what a coincidence. I JUST started watching the anime. Yeah, the 1980′s one.

sweet me too i think im on ep 10,…

i think maybe he could be some random dlc character with a original origanl dlc story for the next dynasty Warriors game maybe…they did do Gundam….

  • TyeTheCzar

Wow. If Koei’s really going to slap on a great anime series onto their sickeningly mediocre Warriors franchise, then they must REALLY hate Hokuto No Ken.

  • QBasic

Aw, HEEEEEELL NO!!! I can’t believe Koei is gonna bastardize another respectable franchise with this Warriors assfaggotry of theirs…

This is seriously turning into nonsense.

My two favorite anime series is Mobile Suit Gundam and Fist of the North Star. Way to go fucking up another amazing series Koei.

Like malek86 said. I’d rather see Fist of the North Star play like God Hand. God Hand is an amazing game and if the story and boss characters are changed, you could pretty much call God Hand FotNS. Having the first chapter, Ken going to save Yuria and fighting Shin as the last boss thinking he killed her, could be the first game.

Please, no… while I would love to see an awesome 3D Fist of the North Star game (get Kamiya Akira out of retirement?), but not this.. They are already doing a “Troy” Musou, yes Troy…

    • malek86

      Please tell me you’re joking.

      • Aoshi00

It was from the TGS 09 vol. 3 video on the Jpn PSN :(… should be on youtube too. And I actually liked the movie w/ Brad Pitt Achilles.. There’s no bound to milking musou, you used to be good Koei…

Yep, definitely looks like HNK. That reminds me of Yuria and Southern Cross. Not to mention, they show the Big Dipper at the end.

I don’t see why everyone is getting all bent out of shape over this possibly being a Hokuto no Ken Musou game though. I love the series as much as the next guy, but do you remember how many random guys Kenshiro killed? If it wasn’t for the story tying everything together, you would think HNK itself was some sort of Musou anime, lol.

I mean, just wow..so..many dudes killed. I just couldn’t keep up with the bodycount after a 1/10th of the way into the show. So, personally, I don’t see this really being a bad idea if it does turn out to be true.

    • Gringovic

I agree on Ur side of the comment about the craaaaazy bodycount in HNK; however I’d like to disagree cause the game mechanics of this Musou/Dynasty Warriors thing are just aweful to me… I’m all up for a good beat them up a la GodHand though… or a vs fighter as the one that was in arcades and on PS2 with 3D character models like in SF4!!

I don’t understand why everyone else gets so ass pained over Warrior’s games. They aren’t that bad; albeit, there’s a bunch of them out. If its too easy too beat up the the weaker enemies you have the option to pick a hard or hell mode where everything has to be timed and planned unless you want to charge out and die. Is it the sheer number released? Pokemon, Rock Band, and any sports title do the same things. I can understand people not liking the games, but there’s an adamant hivemind of hate for it in the west, hell I think they sell worse than Tales games over here.
