No Need To Import, 3D Dot Game Heroes Definitely Coming To North America

Sony’s PlayStation Twitter account confirmed what we’ve heard murmurs about, 3D Dot Games Heroes will see a stateside release. A publisher has not been announced, so who could it be?

Ubisoft? Recently, they’ve published a lot of From Software titles including Armored Core: For Answer and Tenchu: Shadow Assassins. Atlus? They handled Demon’s Souls, even though technically it’s a Sony owned titled. A smaller publisher? A staffer at Midas Interactive, the parent company of Ghostlight who is bringing over Record of Agarest War to Europe, said he had a build months ago. Sony Computer Entertainment America? They’re the one’s making the announcement.

With so much positive buzz, I imagine a larger publisher shelled out a pixilated king’s ransom for the rights.

    Fantastic news!

Yay! This has made my day! :D

I wonder who it is, as well! We've had a build for quite some time, as well. It's a lot of nostalgic fun. I hope whoever's bringing it over will treat it with care!

I hope it's Atlus. Ubisoft's translations have always sucked, IMHO. And SCEA takes forever to release games.

    Excellent News.

As long as it's not Ignition. Please, don't let it be Ignition. I still hold a good deal of spite for them.

    awesome can't w8 2 c a release date on this!…

Hopefully it isn't Atlus. This game, like Demon's Souls, has yet to really catch my interest and Atlus needs to start putting out better games again. Or otherwise just stick with Atlus-made games (SMT and its various spinoff titles).

True. Ubisoft made Lunar Legend and Dragon Song absolute snores to read. Luckily, the games weren't that great, so it's sort of a win-win in that lose-lose manner. If that makes sense.

Atlus shouldn't publish this because you're not 100% in love with the game? Confusion.

Maybe you are not gamer enough :|

What better game do you want them to release right now?
I don't know any other “better” games in Japan that are not coming here anyways, I really do hope Atlus brings this over, and gets more used to the PS3 so we can see more Atlus PS3 titles in the future.

  • Ereek

    Growlanser.

Actually, I don't know if that's what he's talking about, but it is an ATLUS developed game they haven't brought to North America yet.

Growlanser wasn't on my mind at all when I made that comment, but that would be great, actually. I have little hope that any Growlanser titles will be released outside of Japan, though. We're much more likely to see the latest version of Persona 3, and that game has already been released two times.

As for better games, I'd say Strange Journey, but they'll probably release that one. I dunno, there aren't a lot of console games in Japan that interest me these days, but I'm sure the DS and PSP have plenty that I can't think of at the moment.

    Exactly!

But no, I never said they shouldn't publish it because I have no interest in the game. Just that I hope they don't publish it because I have no interest in the game.

Maybe it's because it's a From Software game and I am wary of any game that they make. They lost their touch ages ago.

  • Somato

    Rad!
I'm definitely going to be picking this up.
I've got to say that I kind of hope that Atlus does publish the game, just because they might include some kind of awesome pre-order bonus.

I'd kill for a Growlanser localization. Strange Journey I think is a given at this point, especially since the developers openly said that it was in Antarctica because of the western audience. Growlanser, though, I'd be surprised if ATLUS brough over due to Growlanser V's lack of success.
