Amazon Dates Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey For March

By Spencer . November 2, 2009 . 9:27pm

Atlus USA hasn’t confirmed Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, but we’re pretty sure it’s coming. First, it’s a Shin Megami Tensei game. Atlus is gung-ho about releasing the series stateside. Second, Antarctica was picked as the setting so it would appeal better to an international audience. Another good sign, but not as solid as a leak.

Superstar tipper Denpa no Sekai found one (thanks!!) on which lists Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey’s release date as March 10, 2010. That seems about right. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor took around six months to localize. Strange Journey came out in October so the time line fits.

After hearing about this leak I scanned for other potential Atlus games like Yggdra Unison, Growlanser, Persona 3 Portable, and 3D Dot Game Heroes but couldn’t find anything.

While I continue to search for random games that Atlus might pick up, read our impressions of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.

  • Ereek seems to leak quite a few games, but how many of us are really surprised about this one? Well, I suppose we can expect an announcement soon. I’m still hoping, no matter how unlikely it will be, for a Growlanser release.

    Good news, nonetheless.

  • Nice!! Now the only one left is Luminous arc 3 and Summon night X!!!

    • ShinNoKami

Luminous Arc could possibly get an english release seeing as the first two games did. Summon Night (sadly) notsomuch.
I wish they did, though. I played the first two games on the GBA and loved them. Twin Age didn’t really scratch the itch.

Oh god, be true. Early 2010 is already crowded as it is, but I would pick this game up over so many others.

  • MadMirko

Ohh, that would be wonderful, and about one (1) eternity sooner than I expected.

Seriously, with the amount of games we get nowadays, it doesn’t matter much to me how long localization of a specific title takes. As long as it’s coming I actually prefer those in charge taking their time and doing it right. My backlog could probably cover a few years of not buying anything at all (lol me), so by all means, sell it when it’s done.

    • Joanna

yup, I’m in the same position. I’ve got a backlog that could last me for years, so I don’t mind if a game takes a little longer to come state side. Still I’m happy to see this making it over (even when chances are good, it is reassuring when you see leaks).

  • another game for march!

  • vall03

its about time! I cant wait!

  • jarrodand

Awesome. I hope Yggdra Unison is just as speedy, I need my Ogre-fix.

I also have my fingers/toes crossed that Atlus snags 7th Dragon, since Sega seems disinterested.

    • ShinNoKami

Oh gods yes please! That’s one game I wanna see.
