New Nodame Cantabile Game Revealed Namco Bandai’s new Nodame Cantabile game is more Wii Music than Elite Beat Agents. The game has thirty songs to play, but you don’t tap beats anymore. In Nodame Catabile: Music Fun Time, you conduct by sliding the stylus.

Notice how Nodame is rendered as a 3D model? Players can change his clothes and Chiaki’s outfit too. Both characters are playable.

Aside from concert mode, you can listen to 190 songs in “my room” which lets players set up ten playlists. Fans can also brush up on their music appreciation in the music salon. This mode has scenes from the manga and classical music trivia. Study well, there is also a quiz mode with over 650 questions to tackle.

Nodame Cantabile: Music Fun Time is scheduled to come out in Japan on February 18, 2010. Head over to Impress Watch to see a ton of screenshots.

Cool i really like this animeand specially classic music

Spence, also, nodame is the girl, and chiaki is the boy in the screenshot in this page :P, since you said nodame as a “he” xD

Too bad this'll unlikely come out in english, because I'd like to test out my classical music knowledge outside of playing the music parts =)

But this is on the DS right, wouldn't the sound quality be bad w/ so many pieces of music? I liked the first DS game okay.. wonder if I should snatch a used copy of the Wii game Dream Orchestra on ebay.. but then I warn myself Wii Music sucked, even though I'm a big Nodame fan..

I guess Chiaki does sound like a girl's name, lol..

Makes me want to go watch the TV drama again..

Yes, if i was someone who wouldnt have seen it, i would expect the dude to be nodame (since it seems he is the main characters xD)

Btw it just finished after almost 10 years, the manga :P

Lol i only saw the anime O_O, the tv drama looks weird xD

The TV drama is awesome. I actually saw the drama first, then watched the anime and then read the manga (where the first season left off). So at first it took me a little while to get used to their anime voices by Kawasumi Ayako and Seki Tomkazu.

The drama is really funny you should watch it if you have a chance, they used slow-mo and a little CG on some of the over the top comedy, also actors did a great job “pretending” to play classical music, it looked like they have some training. I don't know anything about playing musical instruments like piano or conducting, but it really looked convincing, at least much more exciting than the cheap still shots used in the anime :(…

Oh, the actress Ueno Juri who played Nodame looks much prettier in the drama, the silly screenshots don't do her justice :)

As someone who has played classical music in recitals I would think I would relate to this series at least a little, but I just can't get into it no matter what media it's in.

Ah, Elite Beat Agents… you were too good for this world.
