Samurai Shodown Sen Set For Spring

samshoThe Samurai Shodown news we mentioned two weeks ago is now official. Xseed’s first Xbox 360 game will be Samurai Shodown Sen and it’s slated for spring.

Developed by Valhalla Knights studio K2, Samurai Shodown Sen is a 3D fighting game with newly added finishing moves for North America and Europe.

“We are ecstatic to have our first offering on Xbox 360 be the latest iteration of such a highly-regarded franchise. The Samurai Shodown series was a pioneer in the weapons-based fighting genre when it first took arcades by storm over a decade ago, and will now be bringing that same kind of innovative spirit as the series is reborn in 3D with online play,” Jun Iwasaki, Xseed’s President, said about the arrangement.

Soichiro Hosoya, President of SNK, had equally amicable words about Xseed, “We are thrilled to partner with Xseed Games on Samurai Shodown as we have much respect and admiration for their approach to creatively marketing games in North America.”

I feel sorry for them. Of all the SS games to localize, why did it have to be this one…. If only SNK made a real sequel to 6..

  • Dark_Sage

Not enough girls for a blind buy. :(

  • wharcraff

At least they got to have the ‘Samurai Showdown Anthology’ as a love letter to the fans of the franchise. We’ll see if they still got it.

  • cowcow

SNK can’t even localize their own title so they need XSeed for help? AND it’s only on XBox360 as opposed to being multi platform? Sad indeed…

    • Hraesvelgr

AND it looks rather terrible as opposed to being a halfway decent game? Sad indeed..

      • raymk

Always so negative aren’t we Hraesvelgr, but yeah the games not that good and its only on 360 so that counts me out.

    • The most recent game SNK has brought to the US themselves is Samurai Shodown Anthology.

  • This is the Maximum Impact of the Samurai Shodown.

on a lighter note, who the hell designed the US Box?? The white text (SEN) looks out of place. it’s almost mocking me.

  • $20 or I smell major disaster for XSEED. This game looks horrible… like… Battle Arena Toshinden horrible. Here’s hoping it plays MUCH better than it looks.
