Namco Bandai Gets In The New Play Control Business With Gundam Port

imageNintendo and Capcom are no stranger to Gamecube to Wii ports. Some of those re-releases like New Play Control: Mario Power Tennis even broke the top ten charts in Japan.

Now, Namco Bandai is jumping on that bandwagon with SD Gundam Gashapon Wars. The 2005 Gamecube title is being re-released as a Wii game on June 24 for 3,990 yen ($43). Players can control 150+ super deformed mobile suits in tactical battles, explore an action RPG style dungeon, and fight friends in a four player mode. It’s unclear if any extras are being made for the Wii version, aside from wide screen rescaling and Classic Controller support.

    I hope this isn’t the only game they’ll Wii-port.

Tales of Symphonia in widescreen on Wii would be awesome! :D

They’d just have to localize it…

  • I hope this isn’t the only game they’ll Wii-port.

I’d love to see Symphonia on the Wii with widescreen! I can’t find the GC version where I live. :(

Of course they’d just have to localize it…

  • I’m glad for this Wii Port. The game is out of print on the GC. You can’t find it anywhere! I will be getting this!

It’s Namco Bandai, which means it won’t come here unless it has “Naruto” or “Dragon Ball” in it.

They hate us, and our money, filthy non-japanese money.

Sorry about that, it’s the bitterness talking.

    • Yup. No wonder Tomino has some sort of haterade about gaming, when in fact, most of the games based from Gundam NEVER make it out of Japan.

They hate not getting money from the Western audiences, actually.
