Ninety-Nine Nights II Uses “Cinematic Battles” For Skeletal Dragon Fight

By Spencer . March 30, 2010 . 10:30am

Konami or perhaps Lost Odyssey developer Feelplus decided to mix up the Dynasty Warriors-esque combat in Ninety-Nine Nights II. This game has a darker motif and “cinematic battles” with dragons which are really quick time events. The trailer also points out stages have gimmicks, like switches, which players need to trigger to press on.

Nothing revolutionary, but the online co-op missions sound like they could be a worthy addition. Cooperative play was sorely missed in the original Ninety-Nine Nights.

Yeah, looks like co-op would be the most fun aspect.. I like how the chars look, but the weird names are back again. And Kiryuu Kazuma from Yakuza as the main character, nice :)!

I really wish feel+ went on to make Lost Odyssey 2 instead of this.

Definitely deserves a sequel, Cooke/Mack a little bit grown up, and the immortals are still well.. immortals.. Jansen needs to be in it too :) Don’t think it’s happening though, but it should.. beats the last 3 numbered FFs + XIV + versus combined. I’m missing Uematsu alrdy (listening to his Anata wo Yurusanai OST now), dunno if he’s scoring Last Story..
