No More Heroes 3 Is Just Like Diarrhea, According To Suda51

By Spencer . April 6, 2010 . 12:17pm

imageSpeaking with the Guardian, Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda made a scatological synopsis of the No More Heroes series.

"With No More Heroes 1, the idea came when I was literally sitting on the toilet. It was the result of trying to empty my bowels, if you like," Suda said in a video interview. No wonder players make Travis sit on the can to save the game.

"With No More Heroes 2, I tried to get rid of whatever was left over in my bowels, and luckily it all happened. What we are hoping to do now with No More Heroes 3 is probably to digest everything we eat and then purge absolutely everything in our guts, just like diarrhea!"

Not sure if this is an “official” confirmation that No More Heroes 3 is in development, but at least the thought of another sequel is festering somewhere inside Suda51.

No More Heroes 2 makes its European debut on May 28.

Thanks for the tip Roger!

  • NMH2 gave me diarrhea from playing through that mess. Do not want 3. You can make it up to me by doing a Michigan Wii-make instead, Suda!

    • Suda51 mentioned about going back to Michigan. Not that he was confirming anything, but in a Gamasutra interview he said he’d like to go back to it or make another game like it.

I would love to see it on the Wii or 360, too, especially after hearing this comment from the interviewer:
“The European guys allowed it to be published, but the U.S. guys said there wasn’t enough gameplay.”

  • NMH2 actually does feel like having a loose-motion…of otakuness. It’s like they said, “How can we take every last tiny morsel of our otaku spirit and personify it in some way?”

I mean, there’s a point where you have giant mechs rising out of a football stadium, complete with “blasting off into the sky!” anime music blaring. There’s another point where the game does a fantastic job of spoofing / paying tribute to Resident Evil 4. They certainly put a lot of thought into every aspect of the game. The target audience, the console it’s on, games that Wii owners are likely to have played before.

I can’t imagine what they could possibly have “left over in their bowels,” but I can’t wait to find out.

I’m still wondering if I should import NMH on 360 or it might get announced here soon. Too much waggle on the Wii for my liking, I want to give this a 2nd try.. Space is no prob now since I just got a 250Gb and moved the 120Gb to my Jpn 360. BTW, for those who are curious, the 120Gb –> 250Gb data transfer went w/o a hitch w/ the cable that it came w/, I transferred around 70Gb and it took about 5 hrs.

    • The trailer for it looks really, really nice, and I’m not an HD guy at all. Maybe it’s because while my love for the series knows no bounds, I have to be honest and say that the visual effects are not the strongest sometimes, even in NMH2.
As for the waggleness, the balance was -just- right me. I’m glad the swordplay wasn’t fixed to the actual waggling and only limited to the special moves like finishers and suplex.

Hopefully, we’ll hear from a publisher interested in it. Till then, I’m set on at least importing the art portraits, heh.

  • Suda51, are you implying that NMH is your MGS?
