Another Century’s Episode: R Set For August

By Spencer . May 21, 2010 . 8:42am

Armored Core developer From Software and Namco Bandai are preparing the first Another Century’s Episode game for PlayStation 3.

New series featured in Another Century’s Episode: R include Full Metal Panic, Code Geass R2, Macross Frontier, Macross Zero, Genesis of Aquarion, Super Dimension Century Orguss, Crossbone Gundam, and Gundam Seed Destiny.

Reserve the game and you’ll get a code to unlock Z Gundam 3. It’s possible to unlock this mech without the pre-order product code. All the code does is give you early access to Z Gundam 3, which you can also earn by playing through the game.

If you’re itching for giant robot action mark August 19 on your planner. That’s when Another Century’s Episode: R comes out in Japan.

  • Yay more screens! I wonder what the right analogue stick will be used for in-game

Wtf…No Eureka seveN mechs…..f*ck you From Software and f*ck you Namco Bandai and f*ck you Banpresto!

    • BrotherCavil

Yeah….but we did get CG mechs! :3

    • If you care so much, then just go play ACE 3. Christ.

It’s a sad day when I can consider 4chan to generally be a better fanbase for a series than not-4chan.

  • I hope it gets released it in the NA region

  • I have to ask. Is this a more royal fighting game as Sengoku Basara games or is it a SRPG game?

Cause the idea of fighting trough hords of generic enemies isn´t really that appealing to me.

What appeals to me is the amount of mechas that they are going to use. That would make for some great matches.

    • It’s more like a royal fighting game, but it’s not Dynasty Warriors or Sengoku Basara-ish.
It’s more like Zone Of The Enders, with respect to the first 3 games. I heard that this one will have some similarities to Armored Core 4, but forgive me if I’m wrong.

Regarding the gameplay, it’s not mindless button mashing fiesta like Dynasty Warriors, but you will be given a specific condition such as
      “Protect the ship from XXX”
“Destroy XX satellites in this time limit”
      “Escort XX to safety”

But for the most part, the enjoyment comes in mecha harem.

If you happen to find a copy of A.C.E 3, I’d say grab it and feel the excitement of controlling your most beloved mechs to lay ruin on the opposition.

Oh baby. That Shinkiro is sooo mine. >:3

  • Soma

There was a lot of promo for this in Japan when I was there last month. Particularly in SofMap stores.
It looks really awesome, but I’ll have to import it. Slim chance that we’ll ever see an A.C.E. game in North America. :(

  • holyPaladin

    Oh FMP and Geass!
    Why not Gundam 00 too

  • epy

I want… Namco Bandai.. please…. ah, forget it.
