Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light Coming This Fall [Update]

By Spencer . May 27, 2010 . 2:38am

imageSquare Enix officially announced a localized version of Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light for Europe. We know you’re shocked about the news, but hang tight we have story details too.

The story so far…

In the small kingdom of Horne, Brandt awakes on the morning of his fourteenth birthday.

Today is the day he becomes an adult, and the custom of the realm says that he must go to the castle to present himself to the king.

Yet when he arrives at the castle he finds the kind distraught and the youngest princess missing, abducted by the Witch of the North. With no one else to turn to, the king makes a shocking request: will Brandt save the princess?

And thus Brandt’s adventure begins…

Eventually he is joined by three other brave young souls. Together they will experience a journey full of joyous meetings and sad partings.

Though at first they don’t always see eye-to-eye, these four Heroes of Light will build bonds of trust and affection so strong that, in the end, they may even save the world.

This is the tale of their legendary fantasy.

No legendary fantasy would be complete without battles and The 4 Heroes of Light uses a simplified command system. Magic points are out and all commands are on a touch screen menu. Players can customize Brandt and his crew with crowns, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light’s take on the job system. Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light also has a local multiplayer mode where players can enter dungeons and collect battle points to spend on rare items.

Square Enix plans to release Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light this fall.

Update: Square Enix set October 5 as the release date for North America.

This, my friends, is why you trust Siliconera.

Where is dat dude who doubted Spencer? Lets burn him alive. >:I

The title is incorrect. It should be “The Four Heroes of Light.” Unless it’s chapter or a consistently numbered starting/stopping point, it’s always spelled out until 10.

Someone should relay this message to Square Enix.

    • MisterNiwa

Oh yeah.. and while we are at it, relay this message to Valve..

‘The Title for Left 4 Dead is incorrect, unless its a chapter or a consistently numbered starting/stopping point, it’s always spelled out until 10. It should be called “Left Four Dead”‘

Hah, it’s always good to joke around.

I always felt Left 4 Dead was a stupid title. Besides, two entirely different things.Left 4 Dead is Left for Dead, not Left Four Dead. So quoting me really isn’t accurate. They’re two different representations of the number. The representation with my quote that you’re giving is like saying Driv3r should be called Drivthreer.

So yeah. The Four Heroes of Light is based on a number in a sentence which should be used as a number, the others are based on using numbers as replacement words or letters. A gimmick based name.

  • I’m OK with the art change but oh man, that logo…someone call a typographer!

My nitpicking aside, good to finally get an official announcement. October 5th in the USA, you say? I’ll look forward to awaiting the price drop from $40—I mean playing this. ;)

I don’t think you’re nitpicking, that logo is pretty bad. I’m surprised SE would make such a horrible decision nowadays.

  • Man, aren’t you guys loving this year? lots of great releases are prepared for us :D

  • I hate it when games take advantage of my status as a massive loot/party-building whore. I played every Valhalla Knights game all the way through for these very reasons.
