Next Taiko No Tatsujin Game Has An RPG Like Adventure ModeIn Taiko no Tatsujin: Dororon! The Great Yokai Battle, Wada-don goes ghost hunting around Japan. His quest begins in Iga Village where he can talk to townsfolk. Namco Bandai designed a classic RPG look for this mode and even added random battles.

When Wada-don leaves town monsters can attack him. Menus don’t pop up for fights, though. Taiko no Tatsujin: Dororon! The Great Yokai Battle has drum battles where players hit the touch screen drum to hit monsters like the kappa. Taking a cue from Dragon Quest, textboxes tell players how much damage they did. After each fight, Wada-don gains experience and can level.

So, if you’ve been dreaming of a drumming RPG keep an eye out for Taiko no Tatsujin: Dororon! The Great Yokai Battle. The game comes out in Japan tomorrow.

    That looks awesome!

Anyone know if this has been delayed in Japan? PA are saying “not yet published or released” and Yesasia just have it listed as a 1st July release, not “in stock”.

I get a Goemon/Rocky & Pocky vibe from this! Hope it gets localized, but Taiko games aren’t popular enough to make it happen S:
