Arc System Works Bringing Arcana Heart 3 To Consoles

By Spencer . July 20, 2010 . 9:00pm

image Examu teamed up with BlazBlue developer Arc System Works for a console version of Arcana Heart 3. This gals fighting game lets users pick one of 23 characters and a move list altering arcana.

The home version of Arcana Heart 3 has a fully voiced story mode and HD anime graphics for super moves. Arcana Heart 3 includes the usual fighting game bells and whistles like a training mode, score attack, and online play. While waiting for a match you can watch other players fight. Arcana Heart 3 also has a gallery mode with a library of event graphics to unlock.

Japan gets the arcade game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this winter.

:DI’m not a huge Arcana guy, but in my eyes, the more PS3 fighters the merrier! Will definitely be getting this.
Edit: I hope they add some graphical updates, too, but I’m happy as is.

    3, 2, 1……………..Hnnnnnnnnnggggggggggghhhhhhhh

My opinion probably won’t be popular here, but I wish Arcana Heart 2 came to the US.

I was expecting AH2 to show up, but with the bugs I heard about it having and if the sales weren’t too strong enough for Atlus USA to provide it with us, I guess not hearing much of a peep about it soon after wasn’t too surprising.
Maybe there’s hope with this one, but we’ll how it goes.
If Arc is having the same online set-up BlazBlue has, wowzers!

Worst thing ive ran into while playing AH2 was lag from too much going on at once ><…such as if two people did Critical hearts.

Arcana Heart 3 to home consoles is great. But with ASW working on the port, lets hope for some special home characters (Noel, Litchi, V-13, Taokaka, Rachel, or any of the new gals in Continuem Shift would fit nicely with the Gals-only theme)

Arcana Heart 2 was such a disappointment, so I’m not really looking forward to this next one. They’d have to -really- impress me to make up for the last atrocious installment.

And the mechanics aren’t that great either. Bring over Melty Blood Actress Again (or the next Melty Blood), and I’ll buy that in a heartbeat, even though I imported the Japanese one.

Actually the mechanics are great for this game and the last installment was due to being on ps3. But i hear ya though it was still a bad port either way i can say with a happy heart though that this will be better. (i want melty blood also but the chances of that or slim to none on ps3 =( )

Could you perhaps explain how the chances are slim for a Melty Blood AA release on PS3? I don’t know much about Type Moon but I think MBAA is a great game.

It had a decent turnout of competitors at the EVO 2010 tournament, especially for a PS2 game that was never officially released in the US. Hopefully that can convince Type Moon to release the game on PSN/XBL in other regions outside of Japan.

I played Melty Blood on the PC. I’ve got NO idea what anyone sees in this game. It’s mediocre in all levels. It’s not bad but it’s nowhere near as good as the internet will have you believe. Hell Vanguard Princess is freeware and a much better game. Sorry I don’t mean to bash. It’s just I’d rather see Arcana Heart 3.

There are a lot of Melty Blood, the best is Actress Again for ps2 IMO because I love the gameplay in general. I only played the first MM on pc because of the plot (Tsukihime visual novel spin off)

        • FHOIW

I’d actually like to see a Melty Blood for PS3. Actress Again was epic enough to deserve a PS3 sequel.

Older installments of MB(The PC ones) were pretty poor. But the latest one on PS2, actress again, is incredible. No more 2a nonsense, excellent groove system.

I am hoping this won’t end up as a download for the PS3. Some English voice acting in storymode would certainly help towards that…

  • Pichi

Hopefully its chances are greater for it to be picked up.

At least Examu learned something about their mistakes and ask help from Arc System.

  • BadenBadenPrinny

Also, come on Aksys; you know you want to…..

  • FHOIW

    Fuuuuuuuu*k Yeah!!!!!!!!

Had a feeling this was in the works for some time now. I was just waiting for them to finally announce it.

Hopefully this port isn’t as horribad as the AH2 one.

    • lostinblue

I thought it was faithful? weren’t they using Arcade PS2′s before so it was more like compiling the game and releasing it on a physical SKU?

      I dunno.

      • Exand

AH2 compared to the arcade was pretty bad. Very slow / laggy game play on the console version.

  • masuto

    I’m down. Definitely down!

    OMG OMG OMG

I’ve been waiting for this for like EVER, lol. There is mad hype right here! I am SO hyped!

I really hope this doesn’t turn out to be like Lagcarna Heart 2 though. Either way, I know what I’m importing this winter! Move aside BlazBlue, the lolis have come to kick some ass.
