Arcade Game BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Can Be Patched At Anytime

By Spencer . September 9, 2010 . 8:12pm

imageArc System Works announced BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II, an arcade sequel to BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, uses NESiCAxLive. This system allows players to access their stats and leaderboards on PCs and mobile phones for free. More importantly, NESiCAxLive lets Arc System Works upgrade the game with character balancing patches, if necessary.

Stop by the Amusement Machine show this weekend and you can pick up a limited edition Noel Vermillion NESiCA card.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II will be in arcades this winter. Makoto, Valkenhayn R. Hellsing, Platinum the Trinity, and μ-12 are confirmed to be in the game as playable characters.

    Wtb console release. ^^

I doubt it’ll happen since all of these will merely be paid DLC and patches for the console version we have as of this moment, eliminating the need for another physical release for a good while

    • Kris

You almost have it. Just wait until all the DLC characters are out. :p

I wonder if BlazBlue will get the Guilty Gear treatment, in that any new characters will be few and far between after this point.

…not that new characters make a sequel/semi-sequel, but still.

Well characters do make a fighter, so I think it’s not an unfair statement >w<' I'm kind of worried about that myself, I'm kind of hoping BB keeps getting a good handful of characters with each game. GG's one to two characters a game was honestly just too sparse for me.

Wait for BlazBlue: Crunchy Noodles. There’s no way he’s ready yet.

  • Eh..the description is a little misleading.

“Arc System Works announced BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II, an arcade sequel to BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, uses NESiCAxLive.”

It’s not a sequel. It’s just an upgrade to add new characters. Also, Arc System Works apparently has some other plans for the NESiCA IC cards. They said they will offer players items and content purchases through points which you have gained while playing the game.

We don’t know exactly what they are offering yet, but it sounds interesting nevertheless. Anyway, just thought I’d point that out.

  • Let’s hope this means they’ll be patching in arcade mode for the DLC characters. Of course, knowing Aksys, it’ll be $6 per character or something.
