Look At Level 5′s Swanky Office

By Ishaan . September 24, 2010 . 6:00pm

Over the last few years, Level 5 have possibly been Japan’s fastest-growing developer. With franchises like Professor Layton — published by Nintendo outside of Japan — and Inazuma Eleven, and contract work that has spanned two Dragon Quest games for Square Enix, it should come as no surprise that L5 are rolling in money.

So, how do they spend their cash? Aside from investing it in expanding, like any good capitalist venture, Level 5 also pour money into maintaining their fabulous-looking offices. Here’s a few pictures:

Even the actual office area looks nice.

I wonder if the U.S. branch will get similar treatment.

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

It better. For the greater good.

  • joesz

BEAUTIFUL!I like that the meeting room is a wafu.

      um what?

i couldn’t understand any of that after the word beautiful yet i’m laughing my ass off right now

apparently I made an error, because when I intended to post it,the message wasn’t posted. So I though I’d copy it,refresh the page and past it again,But when I refreshed it I quickly pasted it not noticing that the original message was still in there even after refreshing the page thus creating a duplication.I intended to delete the already pasted part and leave the original message like it was before,But again I delete more then I was supposed to.hm…weird you shouldn’t be laughing your “ass” off ,because I’m sure I was able to fix it before anybody could reply to me..

For a second I read that you’d like the meeting room as your wifu.

      • joesz

        lol

Making the office nicer than all their employees homes.. Nice move Level 5.

    But really… Woah

    • pacanug

It is actually razor sharp business acumen to invest in these swanky offices; your biggest assest walks in that door every morning. Doing everything you can to make your talent happy & comfortable keeps them in house and not over at Square Enix.

    • FireCouch

Not to mention the happier the employees are, the more efficiently they work.

    • kylehyde

You 100% are right, actually my first thoughts when I saw the pictures were: “I want to work there”. And thats exactly what level 5 wants.

      • MisterNiwa

And that is why most people don’t want to work, because their office is no place you’d like to stay for more than a couple of hours.

Level 5 is made of win.

  • Tom_Phoenix

I hope Level 5 treats it’s employees as well as it treats it’s offices. :P

they hiring? loved to work there.

  • Day2Day

Well, I visited Google, which is overwhelmingly epic, but this is like that, except so much classier…

  • YoctoYotta

Is that Yoda in the view room?!

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

Woah, I didn’t even notice that.

      • MisterNiwa

Man, he must be the wise guy inventing the riddles in Professor Layton.

(For the haters, I know who creates them. I just wanted to be funny. 8D)

        • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

He even has an apprentice named Luke!

  • Guest

I wouldnt be able to get anything done if I worked there…

  • RagnaXBL

    Wow!

  • MrRobbyM

Geez…Level 5 sure does have nice taste for modern furniture.

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

You know what you better be spending money on, Level 5? Your American office, that’s what. Yea. So you can bring Ni No Kuni over here.

Man, and to think that, even once we get offices established, CF is pretty much going to make do with two dudes in a broom closet.

I have to wonder how much it cost to build these offices, but more importantly I wonder if L5 actually owns the property? That’d make it cheaper than you’d think in the long run.

Only other game company’s office I can think of that also looked fancy was Ion Storm Dallas’s office… and Ion Storm tanked. They only made like 6 games though.

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

Ion Storm made Dominion though. That counts for three games. <3

      • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

Haha. My game design instructor used to work for Ion Storm before they went under. He’s glad he left when he did.

Why do they have a Spiderman? Nifty.

  • http://twitter.com/FillTheMetroSky Tilt

Professoe Layton is born into style. Now we know why he has such refined tastes… XD

  • http://www.facebook.com/vileta Dave Vileta

wow… but where do they work?

  • ShinNoKami

:B I wonder if they’ll have openings for an animator anytime in the present… or not-so-distant future.

  • Chow

Strangely, most of the photos look like they came from a Playstation Home space.
