Super Street Fighter IV 3D First Details And Trailer

By Ishaan . September 29, 2010 . 2:25am

Capcom have announced the first details of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, along with a debut trailer of the game. In the past, Street Fighter producer, Yoshinori Ono, has stated that the primary goal of the game is to make a portable version of the console game with all its features intact.

The 3D Edition, however, also includes new features. The first one is a passive Tag Mode feature called “Figure Collection.” As you play through the game, you’ll unlock figures of the fighters. In Tag Mode, these figures will enter into an automated fight with those of other players you happen to pass by.

Winning will allow you to unlock more figures. Figure Collection is entirely passive, and you probably won’t even notice when it happens if your 3DS is closed and in your pocket.

The other new feature is just as interesting, and also makes use of Tag Mode. When you’re playing through the game’s regular single player mode, if you happen to pass by another player with the game turned on, your CPU opponent will be kicked out of the ring and you’ll enter a match with the other player.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition doesn’t have a release date, but Capcom have said not to expect it this fiscal year. Now the only thing missing from the game is “Indestructible,” the theme song from the original Street Fighter IV.

Street fighter IV is a really competitive game. I highly doubt people would fight each other in such place such as a park or a train without worrying about your hand held console getting jacked. This may not be the case in japan but outside…yeah definitely. Wonder how hard it is to pull a FADC into a ultra with such a small hand held console like the 3DS.

Well its also hard to imagine people walking outside mindlessly paying attention to only their DS and yelling into the air that the pulled off a tense victory with a well timed hadouken FTW

I play my DS on the subway occasionally and I have never really worried about it getting jacked. And the park makes that seem much less likely, what with having much less proximity to other people.

Sounds like someone lives in a safe neighborhood…

I live in Philadelphia, PA. It’s not exactly the safest place.

I occasionally play my PSP on the bus, and im in downtown Winnipeg. Thats easily the most dengerous city in Canada. The trick is to always carry a knife. Or a handgun.

oh yeah and get checked by the police which they frequently do whenever they walk pass me or even see me (I do not look intimidating or have any record what so ever lol)

I hope this edition has all the characters including Yun and Yang. A little bit of “Poison” wouldn’t hurt either ;)

Sounds really good, but if they decide tu put Elena then this game will become a total must-have.

They should have shown the silhouettes actually fighting each other.

I’m interested in seeing how well the slide pad will work for this.

This actually seems really cool, I mean I never had my doubts at all and it looks really good
