Mario Sports Mix Is A Holiday Wii Game For Japan

By Spencer . September 30, 2010 . 9:25am

imageMario and the Mushroom Kingdom will hit the courts on November 25 when Mario Sports Mix arrives on Wii. What’s in the mix? Hockey, volleyball, basketball, and dodgeball. The developer may surprise you, it’s Square Enix. They also did Mario Hoops 3-on-3 for the Nintendo DS and Mario Sports Mix’s basketball game appears to based on it.

The box art notes Mario Sports Mix has Nintendo Wi-Fi support, perhaps for online play.

Nintendo announced Mario Sports Mix for North America at E3, but haven’t set a date. The game popped up in Australia’s Classification’s Board not too long ago, so a Western release may not be too far away.

  • LIEK Zoh-Mah-GAWD! Awesome box art! If this game actually has online play, then it will make my day. I love when Mario and Co. are in these sports roles. This is a nice trade off for the lack of a true Mario Golf Wii/Tennis sequel(s).

I cant wait (Hopefully Square Enix throws in some of their own characters again, maybe expand and include my favorites, Hope, Vaan, Tidus, Black/White Mage). Daisy, Bowser Jr, also better be here too! I cant wait to play it!

    • Well I see the WIFI logo so that may be a Yes for Online play. It is cool to have Mario Hockey now if they work on making a Mario American Football.

      • MarkMario

bleh, I rather not.Plus I don’t think they would want their characters tackling each other.

        • Say wha? I think you need to see Super Mario Strikers/Charged.
