During A Trademark Hunt, We Found Two Phantasy Star Eternal Trademarks

image Aside from Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity and Phantasy Star Online 2, Sega appears to have two more Phantasy Star games in the works.

In one of our Japanese trademark hunts we found Sega filed trademarks for Phantasy Star: Eternal Planets and Phantasy Star: Eternal Hunters. Both were registered for use with video games. The title makes it sounds like these are going to be companion games like Pokemon: (insert color) / (insert contrasting color), but probably without Rappys to catch.

Ever since Sega released Phantasy Star Online the series evolved from long dungeons with sci-fi stories to item hunts inside long dungeons. Curious to see how a Monster Hunter game would work if its split between two titles.

  • More Phantasy Star is always nice. ^_^

Eternal huh. Sounds familiar. Sega… Eternal… ARCADIA! Skies of Arcadia! Sega is resurrecting Skies within the Phantasy Star universe! Yea, that’s *gotta* be it. Now with Monster Hunter. But with planets. Maybe the hunters hunt planets. So sky pirate hunters battling planets, and with both copies you can trade hunters for planets… O_O

    I’m on(to) something. I’m sure of it.

    • Maybe the people of Arcadia developed space travel and hit some of the Phantasy Star star systems?

Mmm, I wonder if we’ll ever had a traditional RPG Phantasy Star again?

    • Oh how I miss the series:

80s character design, humor, romance, memorable music, it had it all!

As probable as Shining Force IV I’d say…

I would KILL for a new edition like Phantasy Star I through IV. The new Online versions lack so much of the charm, story, graphics and emotional attachment one had with the original series. The dungeons aren’t crafted, they’re generic. The character designs are just too over the top. Go back to the themes and character designs of the early 90s. I want a top-down, 2.5D version with killer graphics. PLEASE SEGA!! GIVE IT UP!

I love this series!!! From classic Phantasy Star 1 to Modern Phantasy Star Portable 2 I’ve been very pleased with the majority of Phantasy Star games
