imageRomancing SaGa 2 is getting a facelift for… mobile phones. A remake in the works improves the Super Famicom game’s graphics and sound. Square Enix is also stuffing extra content into Romancing SaGa 2. This version has a New Game+ mode and an original dungeon that tells the tale of the seven heroes.

Romancing SaGa 2 is scheduled to come out on November 1st for 840 yen ($10). Unannounced additional items will be sold for 200 yen ($2.25) a piece.

Dragon Quest fans on the go can look forward Dragon Quest Monsters Wanted! Right now, Square Enix is teasing the title, but they say it’s a brand new game where the goal is to become the greatest bounty hunter in the world.

RS2 is finally being remade–a remake that I’ve been waiting years for ever since RS on the PS2–and it’s for mobile phones. I feel so trolled.

      Agreed.

Wasn’t Romancing SaGa 2 that game where it was almost nothing but text while you were in towns, and then point-by-point “wandering” during dungeons?

Or am I thinking of another game? Whatever it was, it didn’t sit very well with me, in terms of it being a video game as opposed to an actual board-and-paper RPG.

You might be thinking of Unlimited SaGa for the PS2, which was like a board game. Romancing SaGa games are extremely non-linear, but the gameplay is similar to Final Fantasy in some respects.

      • Chow

Yes, that’s exactly the game I was thinking of. The “SaGa” threw me off there.

I hope these get ported over to each console’s digital service. I would prefer 3DS, since I know I’ll be picking it up, but I wouldn’t mind if they released this on a few services.
