Kanda worked with Capcom before on Mega Man X: Command Mission. Her role was Nana, one of the Reploid navigators. She’s also the voice of Nanako in the Japanese version of Persona 4.

Capcom also posted winners of the townspeople contest. Winning entries include a brag-abond digger who over embellishes his adventures and a female digger who is greatly affected by the weather.

  • “Everyday’s great at your Junes”…And what kind of Junes are we talking about here o_O

I’m gonna assume this will make Persona 4 fans happy.

lol, I love the Junes supermarket song, both the Jpn and Eng ver :) Her Nanako was cute.Kanda Akemi is pretty nice, she was in Negima.. I liked her Wakaba/Takigawa Akane in Cross Game..

      • Zero_Destiny

Oh she voiced Waka too. Actress gots one cute voice I’ll admit it heh heh.

So will fans of Asuna Kagurazaka (Negima), which I think might be more familiar to people who watch the show. I mean, who here actually prefers the Japanese dub of Nanako after hearing her English dub?

      • Her english voice was good too. It didn’t take long for me to get used to it anyways.

        • Testsubject909

Makes me wonder if the english version will use Nanako’s voice actress here…

      • holyPaladin

I prefer Japanese Nanako but english dub not bad either

        Although different Junes’ motto

      • OneOkami

I actually prefer Nanako’s English voice. I guess you could chalk it up to watching a lot of anime, but her English voice, to me, sounds more believably like an actual child around her age. Her Japanese voice sounds like a woman talking like a child.

They are both good, but my suspension of disbelief was was much easier to obtain with the english dub.

        • Caligula

You liked her English dub voice? Don’t get me wrong; I thought P4’s dub was great. But Nanako’s voice… my ears hurt just thinking about it.

          • OneOkami

I suspect your reasons for feeling that way match my very own for preferring it to the Japanese version (but flipped). I guess to add perspective to where I’m coming from, I know a 10 year old girl whose voice I was often reminded of when hearing Nanako speak. There was a particular cutscene where they’re watching a news report and Nanako eventually turns it off, remarking: “This is boring”. The way she said that sounded scarily like I’ve heard that girl said it in the past.

I believe that ability to relate Nanako’s voice to that of a real life girl around her age went a long way to achieving a strong suspension of disbelief. I don’t have nearly as much experience hearing Japanese girls around that age talk, but I do have a fair amount of experience talking to women 20+ years old in addition to hearing lots of anime voice acting and it just makes it harder for me not to hear the “woman” in the voice.

Again, I suspect this how you feel about the English voice.

          • Caligula

Actually, my problem with the English VA wasn’t her sounding like an adult. It was that her voice sounded awfully whiny, and it really grated on my ears.

    • At least fans of the japanese version. I can only hope they pick a decent voice for the english version.

  • Okay, so who is going to make this game?

  • Strain42

So will Karen Strassman provide her English voice as well?

  • awsome finally
