By Ishaan . February 3, 2011 . 8:36am

This week has seen a fair few details released on From Software’s Armored Core 5. Now we have a new trailer for the game, headed our way courtesy of Namco Bandai in 2012 as part of a publishing agreement with From.

For more details on what changes From have introduced to the new Armored Core, you’ll want to look at yesterday’s post on the subject.

In the words of Rodin: “Beautiful.”

  • badmoogle

    Very impressive.

this game show great promise as usual from Armored Core games

notice how we have, like their director said, a 5 meter tal AC fighting a 25 meter up special AC xD

as usual we gonna have to fight big “bosses”
this game never stops amazing me ^^

plus the graphics look so much better then the previous ones
they rly pushed their max to improve the game

5 stars to Software once again for “giving” us another amazing game
    keep it up :D

The game is going to be amazing, but really, what graphics? That’s all CG footage. Take a look at the opening to AC4 and ACfA and the graphics will be just as good. Once it hits gameplay level than the graphics definitely aren’t as nice as the CG, but the gameplay graphics still do look good.

Most bosses were never really big in Armored Core until ACfA with the arms forts. Hardly any large bosses in AC4 and every single final battle in ACfA is against different ACs(Nexts rather) though, so ACs are the real bosses.

Actually, if I remember correctly, the path against the Answerer in AC:FA has you fighting well, uh, the Answerer, and not an enemy NEXT.

The trailer, though pre-rendered, looks to be using the in-game engine and assets, so it’s pretty safe to assume that the actual game will look something close to this.

I dunno what you’re talking about, the openings for AC4 and ACfA were clearly using cinema-quality models and lighting effects; only the cutscene at the end of this trailer is CG.

The game that Front Mission Evolved should have been…

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu

Hell no. Front Mission attempted to copy Armored Core and failed gruesomely.

      Pretty sure this isn’t a turn-based-strategy…

    • PrinceHeir

Front Mission should have stick with SPRG to be honest.

      can’t wait for this :)

though i would want another Ace Another Century game from software ;P

      • Zero_Destiny

I liked Front Mission best as a strategy game too. Loved Front Mission 4 and Front Mission1 was pretty fun. :) Haven’t played 2 or 3 though.

        • PrinceHeir

          yeah 4 seems good :D

oh i saw 5 and it was awesome, it was even translated by fans ^^

          • Guest

Yeah I got that one. Need to finish playing it

          • PrinceHeir

how is it? is it hard?

  • https://twitter.com/kcgst Karu

Yay ! 8 seconds of gameplay in a rectangle of 1/16 the size of the screen… However, it seems by looking at the screenshots and the CG trailer, the middle and heavy weights will reign >:3 !

rar, I’m really pleased, by the notion of the gameplay being slowed down, 4/4A, was stomach turning for me, and made me have to depart the series. I’m hoping this is going to be a fresh start towards, a more tactical, balanced, grounded game >w<'

  • glemtvapen

    Finally a new trailer.
This certainly looks like a departure from the post-apocalyptic settings of previous AC games. Still no mention of Overweapons though.

heres a comment i made in gametrailers

would like some opinions on this

“hmm lets see this a bit deeper

from what i c, AC’s went from 25 meter tal, normal “Raven” size to 5 meter tall AC’s, something like Normal’s size, so far dont see anything wrong, if its to give us players a more sense or scaling

now u still have the the “big” bosses, from what ive seen they have either Arms Fort size or the size of Pulverizes/Leviathan’s
(s u still have abit of ACFA and Last Raven

another thing i noticed is the “HUD” where u choose ur mission
in case ppl forgot, in Last Raven u picked ur mission from something similar to that, so dont go over there and start saying stupid stuff

as my final point from min 2:00 to 2:10 it doesnt seem to be a small AC wreck, its more like an old model of an AC so it could be an old wreck from, lets say, ACFA that was in the desert and they picked up and re-adapt the technology but if u c on a closer look at 2:13 to 2:19 its similar to torso part

    so the question is
what went smaller? the whole AC or just the legs?
the AC’s can remain the big moving tanks but with just smaller legs

i dont think they will remove the bipeds as ppl are fearing
they will just make them smaller, faster and still give the big punch

i know its just a CG video but if u look closely they show u how its gonna be the game play too and before ppl start to give negative thumbs analyze the video better then come talk in the comments “
